Travel Agents View prestigious residential area and home to many private villas and, is best known for its 18 hole golf course

Aucanada (or known locally as Alcanada) is a pretty coastal resort at the top of the Bay of Alcudia. The resort offers a peaceful and relaxing environment and is ideally suited to couples and adults, although the hotels do have facilities to entertain families with children.

There are currently two hotels in Alcanada and a handful of good restaurants and small supermarkets, with a far greater choice in and around the bustling Puerto Alcudia, which is just a short taxi ride, or 20 minute walk, away.

Alcanada is a prestigious residential area and home to many private villas and, is best known for its 18 hole golf course. Alcanada Golf Course has fabulous views across the Bay of Alcudia and has been designed with challenging greens and every respect for the history and harmony of its scenic environment. The Alcanada golf club also boasts a pro-shop, a restaurant and a golf school which offers a wide range of tuition and clinics at all levels.

The beach at Alcanada is sandy with small pebbles and clear, shallow water. Alcanada beach enjoys a natural setting, backed by grass and pine trees, with views across the Alcudia Bay, to the Island of Alcanada and, inland to the Victoria peninsula and mountains. You can wade or swim across to the Alcanada Island and sunbathe on the rocks or admire the lighthouse there. The Alcanada lighthouse is clearly visible from the beach and golf course and, its light creates a lovely atmosphere across the water at night.

Nearby resorts and attractions include the lively Puerto d'Alcudia (1.5km), the historic Alcudia Town (4km) Es Mal Pas and the Victorian Peninsula nature reserve (5km). Alcanada is approx. 60km from Palma Airport.

Majorca Insider this exclusive area is known for its fine beach and tiny offshore island with imposing lighthouse

The tiny resort of Alcanada lies to the east of Alcudia in a superb location facing south across the Bay of Alcudia. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, this exclusive area is known for its fine beach and tiny offshore island with imposing lighthouse.

Some beaches around here are formed from tiny pebbles but are still comfortable on the feet when voyaging into the briny waves!

Water sports are very popular and there's also the Alcanada Golf Club which has one of the best 18-hole courses in Mallorca, and overlooks the coast.

One of the best aspects of Alcanada is that it's peaceful and undeveloped but that means that for dining and shopping it's necessary to head off to nearby Alcudia and Port d'Alcudia: not a great price to pay for a bit of tranquillity!
