Travel Agents View Situated in the south west of the island, Bendinat is a small residential suburb of Portals Nous and is only 20km from Palma.

The resort is popular with golfers as there is an 18 hole golf course and walkers who enjoy taking the coastal route to Portals Nous.

There is not much to offer in Bendinat but visitors will find a good variety of shops, bars and restaurants in the nearby Portal Nous.

Majorca Insider I've always been curious about Bendinat which is named after a private neo-Gothic replica castle which you can see from the motorway as you enter the resort. Bendinat next to Portals Nous on the south west coast, is considered one of the most exclusive resorts of the Bay of Palma with its huge white villas hugging the cliffs, expensive terraced apartments and surrounding lush green hills.

There's a rather swanky Royal Bendinat golf course and some fine dining emporiums such as the famed Italian restaurant, Di Benedetto beloved by celebrities who pop by when they're passing through - and even the likes of Jeffrey Archer. It is situated off the main Bendinat roundabout and although pricey, has a pretty reasonable Sunday lunch menu.

You don’t visit Bendinat for the nightlife. It’s a rather civilised and quiet place for couples in need of a little R and R and families. All the same, just a short trip along the coast will bring one to the happening Puerto Portals with its vast yachts and super marina. There are some good beaches all along the coast here and for a little culture bus routes lead directly to Palma for excellent shopping, museums, galleries and sightseeing tours. In Cala Major there is the Fundacio Pilar I Joan Miro, a fabulous gallery which acts as a tribute to the great artist boasting 2,500 of his works and 100 paintings. I strongly recommend a visit.

For nightlife Palma Nova offers discos, cocktail bars, an assortment of good restaurants and the relaxing Cappuccino cafe and bar, all facing a spotless white sandy beach. Insider Sig
