Costa d'en Blanes Holidays

Travel Agent's View

Travel Agents View Costa D'en Blanes is a small resort which is partially residential. There are several good quality beaches and a number of shops, bars and restaurants but not much in the way of nightlife.

The resort offers lots of activities such as sailing, golfing, tennis and walking and cycling trails so there is plenty to keep everyone occupied.

The city of Palma is only 13 miles away and is a great place to visit with lots of historical buildings to see, great places to eat and lots of shops to wander around.

Also in the vicinity you will find water parks, Marineland and lots of nightlife for those who like things a bit livelier.

All in all, Costa D'en Blanes is an ideal place for a relaxing holiday with an abundance of activities close by.

Insider's View

Majorca Insider Lying just southwest of Palma, along the coastal route to Andratx, this residential area is much sought after by cosmopolitan expat property owners, the yachting fraternity and holidaymakers who prefer not to learn Spanish!

Whatever your preferences, this is a well preserved residential zone situated between the azure sea and the high range of pine clad hills inland where expensive white villas peep out from the trees. Along the coast is the very fashionable marina of Puerto Portals where the jet set hang out at Café Cappuccino or enjoy a cool glass of wine and a salad lunch at Wellies restaurant. Aside from watching the beautiful set in Puerto Portals there are lots of activities to enjoy around here such as tennis and paddle tennis, water sports and boat charters.

Nearby is Marineland which is beloved by children of any age and has regular dolphin and sea lion displays and for golfers, the course at Real Bendinat is only a short distance away.

This area is also frequented by shopaholics because of its many fashionable boutiques, gift shops and imported British brands. I pop along here to the British butcher for his delicious home prepared Cumberland sausages and the French patisserie next door which offers mouthwatering cakes and pastries.

Close by in Portals Nous is one of my favourite haunts, the English Universal bookshop and the newsagent over the road which has a great supply of newspapers and international magazines. Portals Nous also has a wealth of upmarket outlets and the shopping mall at Puerto Portals resembles a small scale version of Bond Street with its jewellery and wildly expensive women's fashion stores.

This is one of the best served resorts for high quality restaurants such as Michelin starred Tristan's, or Flannigan's but I prefer Wellies overlooking the marina for hearty Anglo Spanish cuisine or Tahini, the chic Japanese inspired restaurant next to Cappuccino.
