Barcares enjoys a peaceful location on the Bay of Pollensa, an ideal spot to get away from it all and relax but still within easy reach of a variety of entertainment and activities.

The main beach at Barcares is the Morer Vermell, which is sandy, long and narrow, has crystalline shallow waters and wonderful uninterrupted views across the bay of Pollensa to the Formentor peninsula. Wandering along the coast will lead you to discover several more small rocky coves and sandy bays and, indeed the area is ideal for walking and cycling.

Es Barcares is a small traditional port and the town is mainly residential, with just two hotels by the beach. There is an English pub near the beach, a couple of shops and restaurants and night times are peaceful. For a much wider choice of restaurants and bars, Alcudia Town is an easy 15 minute walk or short taxi ride away and, is enchanting by day or by night.

Nearby resorts and attractions include the historic town of Alcudia (1km), the lively Puerto d'Alcudia (4km), Alcanada and it's 18 hole golf course (6km), the marina at Es Mal Pas (3km) and the Port of Pollensa (9km). Es Barcares is approx. 60km from Palma Airport.

Es Bacares is a rather bijoux resort snuggled close to the ancient town of Alcudia in the rugged north of the island. It’s on a beautiful stretch of coastline lying on the edge of the Bay of Pollença facing the Formentor peninsula.

This is a great family resort with a tempting golden sandy beach which is a great place for relaxing in the sun or trying out all kinds of water sports such as windsurfing and kite surfing.

I have friends who say this is a great area for horse riding or playing tennis but I prefer a cycle ride on the nearby Victoria peninsula. The scenery is stunning and a leisurely bike ride is heavenly in the early evening when the sun starts to go down and the air is fresh.

There are plenty of shops, restaurants and nightlife in nearby Alcudia and a popular haunt is Red Rum, a well known, established bar and restaurant that offers traditional Spanish and international cuisine. Insider Sig
