Travel Agents View Formerly a small fishing port, Port Adriano has been rebuilt extensively in the last 15 years providing modern facilities in an attractive setting.

The swanky marina area of Port Adriano offers a great chance to watch for the local nautical theme. The Marina is home to over 400 berths for Yachts and sailing boats.

The area offers a selection of good dining and local bars and with a close proximity to Santa Ponsa and Magaluf, this gives you the opportunity to revel in some lively entertainment.

Majorca Insider This rather glitzy port which was once home to an unassuming little fishing village is beloved of the yachties and in fact Philippe Starck, the famed architect has recently assisted with the development of an ever grander marina here to allow an increase in yachts for berthing here.

The port has an enviable large and sandy beach surrounded by excellent restaurants and bars that overlook the turquoise waters. I have eaten at Restaurante El Faro del Toro which offers an inspired selection of fish dishes and the fresh catch of the day grilled or baked.

If you're a watersports junkie this is the place for you. There's a well established diving school in the port and you can take boat trips around the coast or in the famous Neptun-Sub, the triple-decked catamaran. Of course you might just prefer to hang out on the beach with a good book, periodically cooling off with a relaxing swim.

Port Adriano's near neighbour is Sant Ponsa which has good shops and amenities as well as Golf Santa Ponsa and if you're up for a trip into nearby Palma to see the historic sights and visit the plethora of shops and the Cortes Ingles department stores, just hop on one of the local buses along the coastal road, twenty minutes away.

Another trip might be to Paguera and its golden beach or better still, the wooded cove of Cala Fornells, one of the prettiest places to swim in the area. Insider Sig
